Rescue Story: Raaina

Thank you Felecia from Las Vegas, Nevada for sending us your rescue story. Raaina is such a beautiful dog and you are both so lucky to have each other. Thank you for sharing!

I rescued Raaina during the week of Thanksgiving 2015. She was five years old you’re going to be six in January. I had just lost my beloved American bulldog to liver disease a few months prior and was devastated.

I knew I wanted to rescue a dog, so I began my online quest to find my new love. I Perused the Internet on all of the rescue sites. After several weeks I saw her face and knew she was the one. Her beautiful eyes spoke to me.

I immediately called the rescue organization and arranged to meet her. The day that I met her was the day that I brought her home.  I thought for sure there would be many obstacles to overcome but I was wrong. The first couple of weeks she slept a lot and did not play but I spent lots of time with her and realized she was just shy.

I now have this beautiful, animated, goofy best friend. Raaina loves to talk, go on long walks, car rides and going over to her friend’s house to play. She loves to learn new tricks and she gives me a kiss and a high-five before she eats.

In all honesty, I am the lucky one because I seriously found the perfect companion. Raaina just turned seven in January and I hope that this is just the beginning of many more birthdays with this special girl.
